Forget the stuffy, traditional school Pictures

...as a parent who’s been both in public school and homeschooling, I understand the importance of capturing these moments. Forget the stiff, traditional school photos—let’s focus on letting your child’s unique personality shine through. Here are some helpful tips to make the most of these sessions. These sessions are available for individuals or at homeschool co-ops. Contact me for more details.

Dress for Confidence and Comfort

Choose outfits that make your child feel good and reflect their personality.

Neutrals, pastels, jewel tones, and earthy shades bring out natural features and look timeless, solid colors or light patterns work great for portraits!

Try to avoid bold colors, big logos or busy patterns that might distract from your child’s face.

Don't worry too much about perfection—just something they love and feel comfy in.

keep accessories minimal

Hats may look great, but they can cast shadows on the face during photos. Let your child’s natural hair frame their face for the best results. Small, classic accessories add a nice touch without overpowering the photo.

Choose accessories that complement your child’s outfit and enhance their features without stealing the spotlight.

a good night's rest

Well-rested kids tend to feel happier and more cooperative, which makes for better photos.

Make sure they get plenty of sleep the night before, so they’re feeling fresh and energized!

bring the fun!

On Portrait Day, remind your child that it’s all about having fun. Smiling, laughing, and showing off their unique personality is what makes these photos special!

If they feel a little nervous, that’s okay—tell them to just be themselves. I’m here to make sure they’re comfortable and having a great time!

avoid sticky snacks

Try to avoid any sticky, messy snacks or drinks before the photo shoot. A little water and a snack (like crackers or fruit) are perfect before we get started.
